Typing on the internet can be a slow process, so we often use quick typing shortcuts to speed up the process. Here are some of the most commonly used shortcuts you will see in online OA:
- 12x12 or 12+12 = The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions
- 301 = 3 meals a day with nothing in between
- AABB = Alcoholic's Anonymous Big Book
- BB = Big Book
- OA = Overeaters Anonymous
- COE = Compulsive Overeater
- ESH = Experience, Strength and Hope
- F2F = face-to-face, as in live meeting [versus online meeting]
- GOMU = God Of My Understanding
- KCB = Keep Coming Back
- HP = Higher Power
- ODAT = One day at a time
- WH = Welcome Home [to OA]
- BRB = Be Right Back
- BTDT = Been There, Done That
- IC = I See
- IM = Instant Message
- IMO = In my opinion
- IMHO = In my humble opinion
- K = Okay
- LOL = Laughing Out Loud
- ROFL = Rolling On The Floor Laughing Out Loud
- Snail Mail = Mail with a stamp on it
- WB = Welcome Back
- WTG = Way To Go!
- :) = smile
- :-) = smile with a nose
- :D = smile/laughing/big grin
